In my opinion, the Savage gives you the most bike for your money in its class. It is lightweight, more than adequately powerful, and looks great, no clutter or cheap plastic covers that are found on many other bikes. The Vulcan 500 LTD is a liquid cooled which may be beneficial if you will be riding in traffic. I find the Savage to have more character and be very enjoyable and easy to ride. I definately prefer the sound of the Savage to sound deeper and more like a real motorcycle than other smaller bikes.(I am running a Jardine muffler.)
